Welcome to Otley Methodist Church Pre-School 

We hope you will be able to find here an overview of what the Otley Methodist Church Pre-School can offer, but the best way to find out about us is to come and visit!

Our pre-school was established  in 1972 and provides a safe and caring environment for the pre-school development and education of your child. We cater for children aged 2 to school years, depending on space availability. We aim to provide high quality care and education for children within the Early Years Foundation Stage and work in partnership with parents to help children learn and develop. By choosing the Otley Methodist Church Pre-School your child is in a safe and stimulating environment and is given generous care and attention with a high ratio of adults to children (1 adult to 4 children aged under three years and 1 adult to 8 children aged over three years). Your child also has the chance to join in with other children and adults to play and learn together.

Children do not have to be toilet trained, staff will help and support both child and family with this when you decide the time is right.

We are very proud to have been given the following comment from our recent Ofsted report:

"Children from a variety of age groups and levels of ability respond happily in this environment, which is well-organised, enabling them to be independent and develop skills for the future. For example, they make decisions about what to play with from resources which are easily accessible. The children learn self-care skills, such as putting on dressing-up clothes and their own coats. They like to help with sweeping up and tidying away the toys. As a result, they learn to take responsibility and gain in self-confidence. The children are happy, display good manners, are well-behaved, interested and occupied in the setting, and enjoy warm relationships with the staff."

As a church run pre-school we do celebrate the major Christian festivals, such as Easter, Harvest and Christmas. At these times we extend a special invitation to families to join in and support the children. The children love these occasions, especially when we all dress up!

Please note that it is not necessary for families to attend ours, or any other church, for your children to come along to our pre-school.
